A place where time stands still – an old Valais house for idealists in Bodmen near Saas-Fee.
A house full of history and charm – on the edge of Saas-Fee with a view of the Bietschhorn.
A rare opportunity to acquire a real gem at the entrance to the glacier village of Saas-Fee: a lovely renovated Valais house that exudes history while offering modern living comfort.
If the old wooden beams could talk, they would tell of generations of summers spent in the clear mountain air, of laughter by the open fire and of the tranquillity of the Alps. Today, the house welcomes its residents with the same warmth – only in new splendour.
Four cosy bedrooms offer retreats full of comfort. In the spacious living room with a Swedish stove and open kitchen, you can enjoy the sweeping view over the Saas Valley – a panorama that makes every day a little celebration.
On the ground floor, an atmospheric carnotzet (a room dedicated to wine tasting and local gastronomy) awaits convivial evenings with friends – or its transformation into an inspiring studio where creativity and history go hand in hand.
A full bathroom and a separate day guest bathroom with carefully selected materials combine alpine character with contemporary comfort.
A place that touches the heart – and where past, present and future come together in perfect harmony.
History of the nearby Waldhüs Bodmen restaurant:
- The settlement of Bodmen has existed for centuries. An old larch house bears the date 1773 – the founding date of a building that can be seen on an external beam.
- Around 1909, the original Café Bodmen was built by Abraham Imseng. His daughter Agnes ran it.
- In 1929, Emanuel Bumann from Saas-Fee acquired Café Bodmen. His wife Leonie also prepared the first raclettes in the Saas Valley there.
- Later (in 1949), Olga Schnyder became the owner, and in 1996/1997, Sepp and Margrit Manser took over, modernising and expanding the inn. waldhues-bodmen.ch
